  19. Actually, the 24 bit images probably did look much more vivid and have much 
  20. more contrast than on the Toaster.  He was probably looking at 24 bit data
  21. on a computer monitor connected to the RGB out of the TARGA.  That is 
  22. going to look a lot better than ~21 bit composite NTSC video on a TV.
  23. The NTSC video is the limiting factor here.  Go out to tape and the image
  24. degrades even more.  Any device going out to composite video is going to
  25. look worse than the equivalent image shown in RGB on a computer monitor.
